VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Feb. 16, 2026) … The Hampton University men's and women's indoor track and field programs finished off its regular season schedule this past weekend with the Pre-Nationals hosted at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
Highlights of the weekend included:
Michael Rodriguez-King set a meet record winning the men's 800 meters in 1:51.62, just edging out teammate
Mohammed Al-YaFee who also broke the meet record in 1:51.82.
Yashahya Brown won the 60 meter hurdles in 7.96.
Jason Woods had two season bests in the 200 meters (22.00) and 400 (49.82)
DeAuna Louis finishing second in the pentathlon with 3,218 points after three second place finishes in the five events.
A sweep of the top five in the women's 600 meters with four personal bests.
Kylee King won in 1:33.07, with
Avah Savage in second (1:33.84), followed by
Mekayla Wilson (1:34.10),
Nia Warren (1:34.55) and Alannah Runge (1:36.18).
Danielle James winning the long jump in a personal best of 6.05m (19-10.25)
Damali Wiliams winning the women's weight throw with a toss of 17.50m (57-5)
Hampton will next see action in the CAA Championships in Boston on February 22-23.
