Softball Hosts Hofstra To Start Five-Game Homestand Friday

HAMPTON, Va. (March 19, 2026) … The Hampton Pirates softball team starts a five-game homestand on Friday afternoon as they begin a three-game CAA series against Hofstra at HU Softball Stadium.

Friday and Saturday's games will be at 3 p.m., while Sunday's series finale will be at 1 p.m. All games will be streamed on FloCollege.

SERIES VS. HOFSTRA
Hofstra leads the all-time series 7-0 having swept a CAA series in 2024 in New York by the scores of 6-1, 1-0 and 2-1. The last time these teams played at Hampton, the Pride swept a 2023 series 8-2, 4-3 and 11-1.

ABOUT HAMPTON
Hampton snapped a six-game losing streak on Sunday with a 5-2 win over Stony Brook. The Pirates smashed three home runs in the contest to tie a single-game school record.
Camryn Hamilton and Carmynn Bonner hit solo shots, while Sydney Evans had a two-run blast for the Pirates in game three at Stony Brook.

Bonner inched her way closer to the top 10 all-time home run list last weekend with a solo shot in a 5-2 win over Stony Brook. She currently has 13 home runs for her career and is one away from entering the top 10 career rankings.

On the season, Bonner leads with a .455 average, 30 hits in 22 games, six doubles, an on-base percentage of .493, a slugging percentage of .727 and has driven in 17. She is ranked in the top 10 in the CAA in all of those categories.

Violet Salazar is next in hitting at .308 and recorded a three-hit game in the second game of the Stony Brook series.

McKenzie Rimmer-Jones and Ava Lester have each won three games on the mound. Lester leads the team with 27 strikeouts and a 3.35 ERA.

ABOUT HOFSTRA (9-13, 5-1)
Hofstra enters the weekend series coming off taking two of three against Monmouth last weekend.

Alanna Morse leads the team in batting average at .365, with Gemma D'Orazio (.322) and Gabby Sultan (.318) following. Morse leads in RBIs with 14, and shares the lead in runs scored with 12.

On the mound, Emma Falen sports a team best 3.46 ERA with four complete games, while Madison Steppe has a team high five wins and a 4.43 ERA.

Hampton hosts UMES on Tuesday for a doubleheader starting at noon.
