HAMPTON, Va. (April 9, 2026) … The Hampton University softball team makes its first of two trips to the Tar Heel state this month as they head to defending CAA Champion Elon for a three-game series starting on Friday night at 5 p.m.
Game two will be Saturday at 2pm, while the series finale on Sunday is at 1 p.m. at Hunt Softball Park. All three games will be streamed on FloCollege.
ABOUT HAMPTON
The Pirates are 8-25 overall and 2-13 in CAA play after dropping all three games to UNCW last weekend.
Carmynn Bonner leads the team in batting average (.402), hits (41), runs scored (17), doubles (8), home runs (5), RBIs (23), slugging percentage (.627) and on-base percentage (.442).
Violet Salazar is next in average at .326, followed by
Riley Bohanon (.319). Salazar is second in hits (31), doubles (6) and third in RBIs (14).
On the mound,
Ava Lester is 4-4 and has thrown five complete games with a 4.12 ERA. She has 10 walks in 52.2 innings of work and has struck out 31.
McKenzie Rimmer-Jones is 4-6 with a 5.65 ERA had leads the team in strikeouts (33), innings pitched (69.1), complete games (6) and lowest opponent batting average (.271).
CARMYNN BONNER WATCH
Bonner enters the last three weekends of the regular season 15 hits from 200 for her career and eight RBIs from 100.

ABOUT ELON
The Phoenix are currently 11-26 on the year and 5-7 in CAA play. They've lost eight in a row and last won defeating UNCW 4-2 on March 21. Last weekend they were swept at Charleston falling 2-1, 3-0 and 4-3.
Jenna Klein leads the team in batting average (.281), followed by Chloe Hatzopoulos (.264), Greta Hessenthaler (.262) and Teagan Baulsir (.247). Hatzopoulos leads in hits (28), followed by Hessenthaler (27) and Baulsir (24).
Klein, Baulsir and Payton Swart share the doubles lead with five, while Hatzopoulos and Baulsir share the home run lead (3). Baulsir tops the team in RBIs with 17 and Lani Wyrick leads in runs scored also with 17.
On the mound, Anna Dew leads the team with a 7-9 record and a 3.32 ERA. She has struck out 97 batters in 97 innings of work. Dew has thrown nine complete games in her 13 starts.
