Hampton University junior linebacker Delbert Tyler was named HU Athlete of the Week following his outstanding performance on the gridiron.

Tyler (Monroeville, Pa.) led the Pirates defensively in Saturday’s 21-13 Homecoming win over Savannah State, recording a team-high 11 tackles – including five solo stops – and a sack for eight yards. He was part of a Hampton defensive effort that held Savannah State to 33 rushing yards.

Tyler is second on the team in tackles with 57 on the season.
