Hampton University junior center David Bruce was named HU Athlete of the Week following his performance on the hardwood this past week.

Bruce (Linden, N.J.) averaged 14.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game over three contests this past week in the Nations of Coaches Classic. He scored a season-high 20 points – tying his career high – at Ohio on Tuesday to go along with 12 rebounds for his first double-double of the season.

Bruce also had 10 points and 12 rebounds against Wofford on Friday, before scoring 13 points at UNC Wilmington on Sunday.
