Hampton University junior guard/forward Du'Vaughn Maxwell was named HU Athlete of the Week following his performance on the hardwood this past week.

Maxwell (Manhattan, N.Y.) was key in two Pirate victories this past week, starting with an 11-point, 10-rebound effort on Monday against James Madison for his second double-double of the season. He also had four blocked shots in the 69-65 win.

He also grabbed eight rebounds in Saturday’s 51-49 win at Howard; for the week, Maxwell averaged 9.0 boards per game.
