Hampton University redshirt-sophomore forward Brielle Ward was named HU Athlete of the Week following her performance this past week on the hardwood.

Ward (Baltimore, Md.) grabbed a career-high and school-record 23 rebounds in Wednesday’s 70-60 home win over Virginia Tech, and 10 of those were on the offensive end. In playing all 40 minutes, Ward also had two steals and four points, going 1-for-3 from the floor.

She also had three rebounds and a steal at Georgia Tech on Monday.
