Junior Brandon Tunnell was named on Tuesday as Hampton University’s Athlete of the Week for his performance on the basketball court.

 

Tunnell made his first start of the season on Jan. 18 at North Carolina A&T, scoring two points and offering two assists in a 65-55 win. He followed that up on Saturday with a season-high 15 points on 5-for-12 shooting and 4-for-5 from the free throw line in the Pirates’ loss to Bethune-Cookman.

 

He also pulled down five rebounds and a logged a team-high three assists.
