Hampton University sophomore guard Malia Tate-DeFreitas was named HU Athlete of the Week following her performance on the hardwood this past week.

Tate-DeFreitas (Harrisburg, Pa.) averaged 24.0 points and 5.0 steals in two games this past week, including a season-best 30-point effort on Monday against North Carolina Central – a game in which she went 13-for-23 from the floor and tied her career high with six steals.
 
She also had 18 points and four steals on Saturday at Savannah State.
