Hampton University sophomore attacker Kendall Sapp was named HU Athlete of the Week following his performance this past weekend on the lacrosse field.

Sapp scored twice and tallied an assist in the Pirates' loss to Roberts Wesleyan, in what was Hampton's first-ever varsity contest. The Pirates are the first HBCU to field a Div. I men's lacrosse team, and the first HBCU to field a varsity men's team since Morgan State in 1981.

Sapp assisted on Brock Robinson's second-quarter goal -- the first goal in Pirates history -- before scoring twice himself. Both of Sapp's goals were unassisted.
