Hampton University senior forward Quanneisha Perry was named HU Athlete of the Week after her outstanding performance on the basketball court over the hoilday break.

Perry (Decatur, Ga.) averaged 16.0 points and 12.0 rebounds while shooting 52 percent from the floor in wins over Troy and Georgia State last week. Against Georgia State, Perry recorded a double-double of 15 points and 17 rebounds.

She added three assists and two steals for the week, earning MVP honors at the Georgia State Invitational. Perry is eight points shy of becoming the 21st player in Lady Pirates history to score 1,000 career points.

Perry was named MEAC Player of the Week on Monday.
