Hampton University junior guard Jericka Jenkins was named HU Athlete of the Week after her outstanding performance on the basketball court.

Jenkins (Lancaster, Texas) averaged 12.5 points per contest in leading the Lady Pirates to wins over Florida A&M and Delaware State. She poured in 13 points last monday at FAMU after shooting 4-for-9 from the floor. Against Delaware State on Saturday, Jenkins scored a team-high 12 points -- all in the first half -- while also dishing out a team-high six assists and recording four steals.

Over those two games, Jenkins shot 9-for-18 (50.0 percent) from the floor and went 3-for-7 from behind the arc.
