Brown had two of Hampton's five hits in that game.

Villanova was up 6-0 after an inning and a half in Friday's second game, but the Lady Pirates got on the board in the bottom of the second inning on a Scott triple down the right-filed line that drove in two runs to cut the Wildcats' lead to 6-2.
Villanova answered with six run in the top of the third, highlighted by a bases-clearing double to center field from Amanda Marquez. The Lady Pirates struck back in the bottom of the inning, pushing two runs across on an RBI single from junior Brooke Boykin (Riverside, Calif.) and a bases-loaded walk to Byrd to make the score 12-4.

Sophomore Tamara Vickers (Lawndale, Calif.) then cleared the bases with a three-run triple, before scoring the final run of the inning on an illegal pitch.

Scott and Boykin each had two hits to lead the Lady Pirates, while Scott and Vickers each drove in three runs.

Utah scored eight runs in the top of the first inning to jump out quick on Saturday morning, before adding three more runs in both the second and third innings.
