Lacrosse Finishes Non-Conference Slate Hosting Queens Tuesday

HAMPTON, Va. (March 17, 2025) … The Hampton men's lacrosse team will close out non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon with a 3:30 p.m. match against Queens University (NC) inside Armstrong Stadium.

LAST MEETING
Queens jumped out to a 6-1 first period lead en route to a 14-7 win on February 24, 2024 in Charlotte, N.C. Hampton responded with three straight goals to open the second period from Xavier Salley, Darius Stanley and DyJae Pearson to trim the deficit to 6-4. The teams alternated goals to close out the second with Queens leading 8-6, but the Royals scored six of the seven goals in the second half for the win. Salley had the lone tally in the second half for Hampton.

LAST TIME OUT
Hampton lost its CAA opener to 16th-ranked Fairfield 29-4 as Elijah Jean-Jacques, Canyon Steverson, Reed Shaw and Zion Garcia scored for the Pirates.

ABOUT HAMPTON
Sebastian West leads the team with three goals and seven assists for 10 points. AJ Knox leads the team in goals scored with eight and adds one assist for nine points, while Shaw has seven goals and one assist for eight points and Darius Stanley also has eight points with four goals and four assists. LJ Collingsworth has made 40 saves in six games in goal, while Ben Kieu has 88 in eight appearances.
Alex Lacey leads the team with 14 ground balls, and Garcia leads with 13 caused turnovers.

ABOUT QUEENS
The Royals enter the contest after falling on March 11 at High Point 18-7 as Carter Petersen had a hat trick, while Dylan Behnke added three assists and one goal. Jack Royer leads Queens with 17 goals and seven assists for 24 points, while Petersen has 14 goals and one assist for 15 points. Behnke and Ryan McDaniel lead the team in assists with eight.
