ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The Hampton University volleyball team will travel to South Carolina State this weekend for the schools' annual SpikeFest tournament. The Lady Pirates will take on four teams over the course of Friday and Saturday.

The Lady Pirates will open play on Friday morning, when they will face Providence at 11 a.m., before taking on UNC-Asheville at 5 p.m. Hampton will then face Winston-Salem State at 11 a.m. on Saturday, before wrapping up competition at 5 p.m. against Wofford.

Hampton faced Winston-Salem State on Aug. 28 to open the season, taking a convincing 3-0 (25-10, 25-9, 25-14) win. The Lady Pirates (2-7) have lost seven straight matches, including all three this past weekend in the Georgetown Classic.

Brittany Wynne (Sacramento, Calif.) and Aaryn Harrison each lead the Lady Pirates with 62 kills on the season, with Wynne averaging 2.48 kills and 2.88 points per set. Harrison (Cary, N.C.) has a team-high 78.5 points on the season, an average of 2.71 a set. Lina Cordoba (Bogota , Columbia) leads the Lady Pirates with 10 service aces, while Adriana Vazquez (Rio Grande, Puerto Rico) has nine and Harrison has recorded eight.

Lihi Elkayam (Misgav, Israel) leads the team and is eighth in the MEAC with 163 assists on the season, an average of 6.52 per set, while Ivana Suput (Zitiste, Serbia) has 120 of the team's 275 digs on defense. Her 4.14 digs per set leads the MEAC.
