RICHMOND, Va. – The Hampton University volleyball team will close out the 2010 regular season on Tuesday, when they head to the Siegel Center to take on the Lady Rams of Virginia Commonwealth University at 7 p.m.
Hampton is 0-23 all-time against VCU, with the last meeting between the two coming on Sept. 6, 2006. The all-time series dates back to 1989, when the Lady Rams won both meetings in three sets. The Lady Pirates last won a set against VCU on Oct. 30, 2001.

Ivana Suput (Zitiste, Serbia) and freshman
Sheileen Pagan (Rio Grande, Puerto Rico) because of injuries. Hampton has dropped six of its last seven matches.
Senior
Aaryn Harrison (Cary, N.C.) leads the Lady Pirates with 279 kills so far this season, averaging 2.74 per set. She now has 1,077 career kills – fourth-most in program history – and she is averaging 2.53 kills per set for her career. Pagan is second on the team in kills with 176 – 1.91 per set – and digs on defense with 187, an average of 2.03 per set.
Senior
Lina Cordoba (Bogota, Colombia) has a team-high .292 hitting percentage, thanks to 131 kills, third most on the team, and just 43 errors in 301 total attacks.
Harrison, Suput and junior
Juliana Chavez (Bogota, Colombia) all lead the team with 18 service aces.
Junior
Lihi Elkayam (Misgav, Israel) leads Hampton with 540 assists, averaging 7.11 per set, while Chavez has 282 to average 5.53 per set.
Even with only playing in 21 sets this season, Suput leads the Lady Pirates with 261 digs on defense – an average of 3.62 per set. Harrison is third on the team in digs with 132, while junior
Mianna Armstrong (Lomond, Alberta) is fourth with 118 and Elkayam is fifth with 116.
Harrison is fifth in the MEAC in points with 336.5, averaging 3.30 per set.
The Lady Rams (11-19) have won seven of their last 10 matches, dropping their last contest against William & Mary in five sets. Mariel Frey leads VCU with 286 kills so far this season, averaging 2.60 per set, while Kristin Boyd has 276 kills – an average of 2.53 per set. Kelsie Clegg leads VCU with a .300 hitting percentage, thanks to 186 kills and just 49 errors in 456 attacks.
Frey also leads VCU with 32 service aces.
