RICHMOND, Va. – The Hampton University volleyball team concluded an injury-riddled 2010 season on Tuesday, falling in three sets as Virginia Commonwealth won 3-0 (25-9, 25-16, 25-17) at the Siegel Center.
The Rams hit .350 as a team, recording 38 kills and just 10 errors in 80 total attacks, hitting a team-best .609 in the first set (15 kills, one error in 23 attacks). VCU also hit .258 (13 kills, five errors in 31 attacks) in the second set and .231 (10 kills, four errors in 26 attacks) in the third set.
VCU also held a 5-1 edge in service aces.

Ornela Cadavid (Cali, Colombia) and freshman
Sheileen Pagan (Rio Grande, Puerto Rico), hit .100 with 23 kills and 15 errors in 80 total attacks. Hampton hit a team-best .174 (eight kills, four errors in 23 attacks) in the third set.
Freshman
Ioana Kalfinova (Sofia, Bulgaria) led Hampton with seven kills, while senior
Aaryn Harrison (Cary, N.C.) added six kills to end her career with 1,083, the fourth-most in program history, along with recording the team's lone service ace.
Sophomore
Mariah Baylor (Minneapolis, Minn.) hit a team-best .400 with two kills and no errors in five attacks.
Junior
Lihi Elkayam (Misgav, Israel) led the Lady Pirates with 10 assists, while junior
Juliana Chavez (Bogota, Colombia) added nine. Harrison also had a team-high six digs on defense, while sophomore
Brittany Hill (Sacramento, Calif.) added five.
Mariel Frey led VCU (11-20) with nine kills, while Courtney Hott added seven. Kelsie Clegg, with six kills and no errors in 11 attacks, hit a team-best .545.
Jessica Warner had two of the Rams' five service aces.
