WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Hampton University volleyball team will compete in the William & Mary Colonial Challenge this Friday and Saturday at Kaplan Arena at William & Mary Hall.
The Lady Pirates will open play at 4 p.m. on Friday against American University, before they take on tournament host William & Mary on Saturday at 1 p.m. Hampton's final match will come on Saturday at 4 p.m. against Campbell University.
Hampton (0-5) last faced the Tribe last season, falling 3-0 in the Georgetown Classic. The Lady Pirates last faced Campbell in 1997, when Campbell won 3-0 in the Campbell University Tournament, while Hampton last faced American in 1992, losing 3-1.
Following Tuesday's five-set loss to Norfolk State, the Lady Pirates are led in kills by freshman
Sheileen Pagan (Rio Grande, Puerto Rico). The Co-MVP of the Tiny L. Laster Memorial Tournament has 33 kills in five matches this season, averaging 2.06 per set and hitting .079.

Aaryn Harrison (Cary, N.C.), who has 30 kills, is averaging 2.31 kills per set.
Freshman
Petra Parros (Bloomfield, New Jersey) leads the Lady Pirates in hitting percentage at .250, thanks to 14 kills and six errors in 32 total attacks, while junior
Lina Cordoba (Bogota , Columbia) is hitting .229 with 17 kills and six errors in 48 total attacks.
Freshman
Ioana Kalfinova (Sofia, Bulgaria) leads the team with four service aces, while Cordoba leads the team with 15 total blocks this season, including 12 blocked attempts – an average of 1.50 per set.
Junior
Lihi Elkayam (Misgav, Israel) has 140 of Hampton's 151 assists so far this season (an average of 8.24 per set), while Pagan also leads the team in digs on defense with 40 – an average of 2.50 per set. Sophomore
Brittany Hill (Sacramento, Calif.) has 33 digs in five matches, averaging 2.75 per set, while Kalfinova is averaging 2.27 digs per set with 25 on the season.
Freshman Paulette Grand Pre leads William & Mary (1-2) with 34 kills so far this season, an average of 3.09 per set, while sophomore Gina Lang and freshman Celine Alasomuka each lead the Tribe with three service aces. Sophomore Molly Krull has 214 assists, averaging 5.62 per set.
American (2-1) is led by senior Madgalena Tekiel, who has 43 kills in three matches for an average of 4.78 per set so far this season. Sophomore Bianca Richardson leads the way with four service aces, while sophomore Krysta Cicala has a team-high 98 assists (10.89 per set).
Senior Deborah Frantz leads the team with 39 digs on defense, recording 4.33 per set.
Senior Emily Werner and sophomore Jordan Reaves each have 24 kills (2.00 per set) to lead Campbell (0-4) so far this season, while junior Annie Kobeski leads the team in hitting percentage at .147 thanks to nine kills and four errors in 34 total attacks. Junior Hope Leatigaga has a team-high 32 assists, while junior Kelsey Campbell has a team-high 46 digs on defense, an average of 4.18 per set.
Freshman Heather Wilson leads Campbell with two service aces.
