HAMPTON, Va. – The Hampton University volleyball team enters the final weekend of the regular season with a possible bid to the 2016 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tournament in sight.

Hampton starts the final road-trip in Dover, Delaware facing off with the Hornets of Delaware State tonight at 7 pm.   The Lady Pirates scored a 3-0 victory on September 30 in the home opener for Hampton.   Delaware State is currently 1-25 overall and 1-9 in the MEAC after defeating Coppin State on Oct. 28.

Norfolk State, who Hampton will end the regular season with on November 6, is currently tied with Hampton at 4-6 in the MEAC Northern Division.  The Spartans take on league-leading Howard on Friday night in Washington before hosting Hampton on Sunday at 3 pm.  NSU took a five-set win over Hampton on October 14 in Holland Hall.

If Hampton wins both matches this weekend, they'll earn a bid to the 2016 MEAC Tournament held November 18-20 in Princess Anne, Md.  The top four teams in each division earn spots in the tournament hosted by Maryland Eastern Shore.

Micah Leavell is ranked fifth in the MEAC in hitting percentage (.274), tenth in kills/set (2.69) to lead Hampton.  Reeana Richardson is seventh in kills/set (3.12) and eighth in points/set (3.45), while Brianna Lilly is second in the league in assists/set (8.75).

As a team, Hampton is fourth in hitting percentage (.152), fifth in assists/set (9.74) and sixth in kills/set (10.47).
