HAMPTON, VA. – The Hampton University volleyball team will get to play on the home floor of Holland Hall for the first time this season as they host a pair of matches this weekend. On Friday night they'll face Delaware State University at 6 pm, while on Sunday afternoon they'll tangle with University of Maryland Eastern Shore at 3 pm.
Hampton (2-11, 1-1) enters the weekend after splitting a pair of matches in Baltimore to open the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference schedule falling in four sets to Morgan State and defeating Coppin State in five.Â
Reeana Richardson leads the team in kills (144), aces (12) and second in digs (83). Freshman
Micah Leavell is next in kills (85), leads the team in attack percentage (.230), and third in blocks (21). The Lady Pirates have won both of their matches this year going the distance in five sets.
In conference action, Leavell ranks seventh in attack percentage and Richardson is third in kills per set.Â
Brianna Lilly is third in assists per set averaging just under 10, while
Summer Humes is tied for fifth in aces per set at 0.67 and
Ravyn Richardson is tied for second in blocks per set at one.
Delaware State (0-14, 0-1) enters Friday night's match after losing on Wednesday to American in three sets. NaKia Jones is fourth in MEAC games in attack percentage (.467) to lead the Hornets. Gabriella Enriquez is ninth in assists per set (5.00) and Alliyah McBean is fourth in digs per set at 3.75.
Maryland Eastern Shore will face Norfolk State on Friday night before coming to Holland Hall on Sunday. The Hawks are 7-10 overall and 0-1 in MEAC play.  Lucia Babic is ninth in kills per set in MEAC action (2.67) and ninth in points per set (3.17), while Ivana Blazevic is eighth in assists (5.33) and tied for second in blocks (1.0).
