Hampton, Va. (Sept. 28, 2023) The Lady Pirates are facing off against regional rival William and Mary this weekend in two conference matches at Holland Hall.
 
Saturday, September 30, 1 pm – Hampton vs. William and Mary
Sunday, October 1, 1 pm – Hampton vs. William and Mary
 
Hampton suffered two losses this past weekend against North Carolina A&T in straight sets.
 
Game 1
 
Rhisen Davis and Tyller Williams both achieved career-highs leading Hampton with seven kills each. Maria Eduarda Rodrigues recorded her third straight-game with double-digit assists and broke her career-high by seven (18). Rickelle Wescott tallied her ninth ace of the season.
 
Madison Clark led the Lady Pirates in digs with seven and Kylah Hunter notched six of her own. Four different Pirates posted a block today and Cortni Adams had three.
 
Game 2
 
Madison Clark and Rhisen Davis led the Lady Pirates in kills with five each. Kalyn Pierre took up setting responsibilities for the first time this season set a season-high with nine assists. Rickelle Wescott added another block to put her total to 10 on the season.
 
Kylah Hunter tallied seven digs while Madison Clark had six of her own. Cortni Adams and Rhisen Davis posted two block each and Clark and Wescott had one.
 
So Far This Season
 
Madison Clark continues to lead Hampton in kills this season with 26 while Rhisen Davis has 21. Maria Eduarda Rodrigues has been the team's primary setter with 45 assists. Rickelle Wescott has smashed 10 aces.
 
Libero Kylah Hunter has recorded the most digs for the Lady Pirates (45) and Wescott has posted the highest number of blocks with 13.

Scouting the William and Mary Tribe (7-7 overall) (2-2 CAA)
 
The Tribe are coached by Ryan Adams in his first season with the program. He spent four years at Lafayette College and was named the Patriot League Coach of the Year in 2021.
Taylor Burrell leads the Tribe in kills with 164. Teammate Sarah Callender follows next with 95. Amy Schwem is the main setter with 287 assists, although Emma Minnick has also set with 222. Lindsey Kahren has tallied 191 digs on the defensive side of the net and Olivia Esposito has 52 blocks.

The Tribe lead the all-time series 23-2 against the Lady Pirates. The teams played twice last year with the Tribe taking both (1-3, 0-3).
