Hampton Women’s Soccer Returns to Powhatan Field on Sunday

HAMPTON, Va. (Sept. 29, 2023) … The Lady Pirates return to Powhatan Field this Sunday to take on Towson. The Tigers currently sit atop the Coastal Conference Standings with 16 points. Sunday's match is set to begin at 1:00 PM and will be the start of consecutive home matches for HU.

A Look at the Lady Pirates

In Hampton's last time out they suffered another conference loss to Elon. However, the Lady Pirates were able to produce five shots which was their highest total since the the match against Stony Brook. With Alexis Deveuax's six saves in last night's match, she is even closer to claiming the single-season saves record. Hampton's youth continues to shine with Mattie Edozie leading the Lady Pirates in shots against the Phoenix.

Since the start of conference play freshman Destiny Dixon has led Hampton in shots. The Newport News, Va. native just sits outside the CAA's top ten for total shots. Keri Geter has seen an increased role since the beginning of CAA matches. Geter has played the full 90 minutes in four out of the six conference contests.
