Pirates Battle William & Mary on Saturday

HAMPTON, Va. (Mar. 1, 2024) ... On Senior Night, Hampton scored a 64-56 win over Monmouth on Friday night in the last home game of the season. Coach Edward Joyner's team looks to continue their winning ways when the Pirates travel to Williamsburg to take on CAA foe William & Mary in the regular-season finale.

The Pirates have won three of their last four games posting wins over Towson (67-61), at Campbell (72-68) before falling at Northeastern (70-62) and setting up Friday night's win over Monmouth.In the win over Monmouth, Dan Banister Jr. scored a career-high 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field. In addition to Banister's 18-point salvo, Jerry Deng chipped in 12 points and Tedrick Wilcox Jr. added 10 for the Pirates.

A Look at the Tribe

William & Mary lost in its last outing, falling at Elon 76-71. Gabe Dorsey led the way for the Tribe with 20 points. William & Mary held a three-point lead at the half but were outscored, 37-29, in the second stanza.

William & Mary boasts four players scoring double-figures including Dorsey (13.6 ppg), Trey Moss (13.2 ppg), Noah Collier (13.0 ppg), and Chase Lowe (12.3 ppg). The Tribe is scoring an average of 69.5 points per game but have managed just 62.8 points during the nine-game losing skein. It will be Senior Night at Kaplan Arena and the last game of the regular-season for the Tribe before the CAA Tournament begins next week in Washington, D.C.
