HAMPTON, Va. (Oct. 3, 2025) ... The 2025 Hampton University volleyball travels to conference foe North Carolina A&T for matches Friday and Saturday. The Pirates are coming off a weekend in which they dropped two games to Stony Brook inside Holland Hall.
Hampton began its home slate in conference play with two losses to Stony Brook. The Pirates took the first set in match one before ultimately falling to the Seawolves. Hampton was led by
Katerina Pappa and
Racquel Frazier who each recorded 12 kills on the weekend.
Morgan Warren added 28 assists to the offensive side, while Pappa and
Nia Thomas added 13 digs a piece on defense.
Lillian Campbell posted a weekend high seven blocks to go along with her 10 kills.
The Aggies were picked fourth in the preseason poll, earning one first place vote, while Tyne Ross was named to the preseason All-CAA team. The last time the two met was a season ago inside Holland Hall where the Aggies took down the Pirates in both matches.
North Carolina A&T leads the all-time series with Hampton 25-3.
ABOUT HAMPTON
Racquel Frazier currently ranks seventh in the conference with 134 kills. Warren leads the Pirates in assists with 286, best for sixth in the CAA. Nationally, Frazier ranks in the top 150 individually in attacks per set (9.91).
Frazier leads the Pirates in kills, while
Katerina Pappa (94) and
Jaya Rimm (58) have over 50. Warren (85), Andrade (76) Pappa (79), Frazier (66), Rimm (51) and
Nia Thomas (54) have all logged over 50 digs in 2025.
Lillian Campbell leads Hampton with 22.0 blocks on the year while
Kylah McNeal adds 18.0.
The Pirates have seen a majority of their production this season come from freshman as three has played in every match.
WORLD WIDE PIRATES
The Pirates have quite the variety of areas and regions on its 2025 roster. Four players are from overseas, while 11 players represent six states. Overseas Pirates hail from Turkey, Greece, Poland and Brazil, while the states of Maryland, Georgia, New Jersey, Texas, Ohio, South Carolina and Virginia are also represented.
DYNAMIC DUO
Katerina Pappa and Racquel Fraizer have registered 228 of the teams 401 kills on the season. Frazier and Pappa lead Hampton in points with an average of 3.13 and 4.72 per set. The two have played in every set this season for the Pirates.
TAKE ME HOME
Gabby (Calloway) Tlelima makes her return to Hampton as an assistant coach for the 2025 season. Tlelima spent four years playing for the Pirates from 2018-2022 where she played in 91 matches. She recorded 709 kills over the course of her career, adding 717 digs.
ABOUT NORTH CAROLINA A&T
The Aggies come into the weekend after losing two matches to UNCW. North Carolina A&T is led by Ross who has 188 kills on the season, which is a league best. Ross was named preseason player of the year in the conference, following her rookie of the year performance in 2024.
Zariah Winton has also logged over 100 kills on the season with 102. Lenor Polezzi bolsters 410 assists on the season, while Valeria Estrada leads the defense with 122 digs. The Aggies have picked up wins over UNC Asheville, Howard, Coppin State and Bethune-Cookman in the 2025 campaign.
