HAMPTON, VA. (Oct. 22, 2025) ... The 2025 Hampton University volleyball team returns to Holland Hall for two matches with Towson. The Pirates are coming off a weekend in which they dropped two games to Campbell on the road in Buies, Creek N.C.
The Pirates were led by Katerina Pappa (15) and Racquel Frazier (10) in the two matches who each recorded over 10 kills. Morgan Warren led Hampton with 34 assists, and Maria Clara Andrade led the way with 13 digs. Lillian Campbell continued to record blocks on the defensive side, tallying four.
The Tigers are currently sitting in first place of the CAA with a 9-1 record in conference play after being picked third in the preseason. Towson had two players named to the preseason all-conference team in Erin Brothers and Sydney Stewart.
Towson leads the all-time series with Hampton 7-0. The last time the two met was in the 2024 season when the Tigers took down Hampton in two matches at Towson.

Racquel Frazier currently leads the Pirates with 166 kills while Morgan Warren leads the Pirates in assists with 324, best for ninth in the CAA.
While Frazier leads the Pirates in kills, Katerina Pappa (132), Jaya Rimm (79) and Lillian Campbell (64) have over 60. Pappa (110), Warren (93), Andrade (101), Frazier (83), Rimm (83), Nia Thomas (57) and Dila Derendeli (53) have all logged over 50 digs in 2025. Campbell leads Hampton with 34.0 blocks on the year while Kylah McNeal adds 22.0.
SECOND YEAR LEAP
While the Pirates 2025 roster is seemingly all new, the four returners of Maria Clara Andrade, Ida Wiszomirska, Morgan Warren and Dila Derendeli have all shown improvement in year two. Andrade has already recorded 101 digs on the season after just 81 as a freshman, Warren has assisted on 324 of the Pirates points this season after just 285 a year ago, Wiszomirska is on pace to top her 184 assists as a freshman and Derendeli is on pace to record more digs this season than last years 66.
BLOCK PARTY
Lillian Campbell has recorded atleast one block in 14 of the Pirates 21 matches on the season. Throughout this season, Campbell has recorded multiple blocks in eight matches.
WORLD WIDE PIRATES
The Pirates have quite the variety of areas and regions on its 2025 roster. Four players are from overseas, while 11 players represent six states. Overseas Pirates hail from Turkey, Greece, Poland and Brazil, while the states of Maryland, Georgia, New Jersey, Texas, Ohio, South Carolina and Virginia are also represented.
ABOUT TOWSON
The Tigers are led offensively by Ella Sanders who has a team high 253 kills, best for second in the CAA. Brothers (222) and Sarah Callender (228) each add over 200 kills on the season, while Towson is first in the leagues with 1200. Maisie Jesse leads the team with 483 assists, while Peyton Meyer adds 305.
Towson has seen a plethora of weekly CAA award winners in the 2025 season, as they have taken home five. Between the weeks of Sept. 8-Oct. 6, the Tigers earned four out of five Defensive Player of the Week honors.
