HAMPTON, Va. (Sept. 25, 2025) ... The 2025 Hampton University volleyball welcomes conference foe Stony Brook to Holland Hall for matches Friday and Saturday. The Pirates are coming off a midweek contest at crosswater rival Norfolk State where they fell 3-0 inside Gill Gymnasium.
Hampton began conference play with two hard fought losses to Elon last weekend. Hampton was led by Katerina Pappa who recorded 14 kills on the weekend. Morgan Warren added 36 assists to the offensive side, while Maria Clara Andrade posted 14 digs on defense.
The Seawolves were picked fifth in the preseason poll while Kali Moore was named to the preseason All-CAA team. The last time the two met was in 2023, as they did not playing during the 2024 campaign.
Stony Brook leads the all-time series with Hampton 4-1.
ABOUT HAMPTON
Racquel Frazier currently ranks sixth in the conference with 122 kills. Warren leads the Pirates in assists with 258, best for fifth in the CAA. Nationally, Frazier ranks in the top 150 individually in attacks per set (9.85).
Frazier leads the Pirates in kills, while Katerina Pappa (82) and Jaya Rimm (52) have over 50. Warren (73), Andrade (70) Pappa (66), Frazier (62), Rimm (44) and Nia Thomas (41) have all logged over 40 digs in 2025. Kylah McNeal leads Hampton with 16.0 blocks on the year while Lillian Campbell adds 15.0.
The Pirates have seen a majority of their production this season come from underclassmen as they have just one upperclassmen on the roster.
DYNAMIC DUO
Katerina Pappa and Racquel Fraizer have registered 204 of the teams 351 kills on the season. Frazier and Pappa lead Hampton in points with an average of 3.36 and 4.80 per set. The two have played in every set this season for the Pirates.
TAKE ME HOME
Gabby (Calloway) Tlelima makes her return to Hampton as an assistant coach for the 2025 season. Tlelima spent four years playing for the Pirates from 2018-2022 where she played in 91 matches. She recorded 709 kills over the course of her career, adding 717 digs.
ETCHING MY NAME IN HISTORY
Racquel Frazier imposed her will against Le Moyne recording a school record for a five set match with 34 kills. Morgan Warren posted 53 assists, which was best for fourth all-time in assists for a match that went five sets.
ABOUT STONY BROOK
Kali Moore leads the Seawolves on offense with 154 kills on the season, best for second in the CAA. Quinn Anderson adds 98 kills while Ava Zamora adds 289 assists. Madison Cigna has recorded 134 digs on the season, while Moore adds 112 of her own.
Stony Brook jumped out to an early 3-0 record on the season after taking down Siena, Rhode Island and Central Connecticut State. The Seawolves split their opening weekend CAA matches with Northeastern.
