RICHMOND, Va. (Sept. 8, 2025) … Hampton University women's soccer freshman
Caitlyn Peace was named on Monday as the CAA Rookie of the Week in the weekly honors announced by the league office.
Peace scored three goals on the week with a pair coming in a 6-0 win over Lincoln (Pa.) on Friday afternoon. She got the ball rolling with the lone goal of the first half at 21:19 ripping a blast in the lower left side of the net.
The freshman from Chalfont, Pa., followed suit 20 seconds into the start of the second half as she took a loose ball and weaved her way through the defense to put the Pirates up 2-0. Those were her first goals of the season for the freshman.
She added a goal to get Hampton on the board in a 2-2 draw with Delaware State on Sunday. Peace was on the receiving end of a
Nylah Jennings feed and she weaved her way through traffic to find the back of the net at the 11:21 mark.
On the season, she is tied for fifth in the league with her three goals joining teammates Jennings and
Madisyn Strange.
Hampton (3-3-1) is back in action for another pair of matches this week hosting Virginia State on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. and then South Carolina State on Sunday at 5 p.m. with both taking place at Powhatan Field in Norfolk.
