Updated Feb. 25 - Hampton was awarded a forfeit victory by the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference office on Sunday as a result of the altercation.
HAMPTON, Va. – Senior
Malique Trent-Street scored 16 points, while fellow senior
Charles Wilson-Fisher added nine and eight rebounds as Hampton defeated Morgan State on Senior Night Saturday.
The game was stopped with 13:33 left after an altercation that resulted in two Morgan State ejections and the Bears walking off the floor. Hampton held the lead for most of the first half and used a 13-4 run in the final 3:50 to take a 40-28 halftime lead on a 3-pointer from
Jermaine Marrow.
The Pirates are now a half-game out of first place in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference with one regular-season game left. Hampton travels to Norfolk State on Thursday night for an 8 pm tip.
