2005 • JUNIOR SEASON
Appeared in nine games on the year, starting the final eight at cornerback… named First Team All-MEAC after leading the conference and ranking fourth in Division I-AA in passes defended with 1.56 per game… made his Hampton debut on Sept. 24 against Morgan State at the New York Urban League Classic… broke up 13 passes and intercepted one… his 13 breakups were the second most in the country… recorded at least two pass breakups in five of his nine games, with a season-high three at Norfolk State… returned his only interception 72 yards against Gardner-Webb… registered a season-high seven tackles (3 solo) against Richmond in the opening round of the I-AA playoffs… also returned eight kickoffs for 212 yards for a team-high 26.5 yards per return… his 51-yard return versus Savannah State marked his longest of the season.

AT MIAMI
Bain saw action on special teams and as a reserve defensive back … Credited with one tackle on the season … As a member of the 2004 Hurricanes Track & Field squad, Bain competed in the 55 meters, 60 meters and 200 meters during the indoor season … Competed in the 100 meters, 200 meters and 4x100 meter relay during the outdoor season.

NORTHWESTERN HIGH SCHOOL
Travarous helped lead his team to the state championship game against Apopka with a 13-2 overall record … Picked off 11 passes for interceptions over the last two seasons (seven as a junior / four as a senior) … Credited with 34 tackles as a senior (2001) … Ranked as the No. 36 player overall in Florida by the SuperPrep … Rated the 59th best player in the nation, regardless of position, by Tom Lemming’s Prep Football Report … A member of the Florida-Georgia All-Star Game … Also an accomplished track & field athlete … Named as a two-time Foot Locker All-America performer.

PERSONAL
Travarous Bain was born on October 15, 1983 … He is the son of former University of Miami defensive back Tolbert Bain (1984-87) and Gwen Tulloch … Excellent student who was named as a three-time Honor Roll student in high school … One of his favorite pastimes includes playing video games.
