2005 • JUNIOR SEASON
Started all eight games in which he appeared… missed four games after suffering an ankle injury against Morgan State in the New York Urban League Classic… still managed to tie for second on the team with nine pass breakups… recorded nine total tackles, seven of which were solo stops… had a season-high three breakups in the season opener against Jackson State in the Detroit Classic… also picked off his only pass of the year and turned in a season-long 51-yard kickoff return in that same game… returned 12 kickoffs for 311 yards for an average of 5.9 yards per return… had four returns of 30 yards or more… blocked field goals in back-to-back games against North Carolina A&T and Morgan State.

2004 • SOPHOMORE SEASON
Saw action in 11 of the Pirates’ 12 games played during the year, including drawing the starting job in nine of those contests … Quickly reestablished himself as one of HU’s best cover men, as well as one of the hardest hitting cornerbacks in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) … Picked up 27 tackles on the year with 21 of those coming by way of a solo performance … Broke up 19 passes on the campaign, good enough to lead the conference in that category … Blocked three kicks on the year—leading the team, including two in victory over Gardner-Webb … Blocked another kick against North Carolina A&T as the Pirates wrapped up the MEAC Championship … Finished tied for second on the squad in interceptions with three to his credit … Had one of his best outings at Savannah State where he racked up five tackles (four solo) and scooped up one fumble recovery, returning it 32 yards for his first career touchdown … Recorded another interception returned for 40 yards against Western Illinois … Tallied a career-best eight tackles (seven assists) in the first round of the NCAA Play-offs at William & Mary … Totaled three tackles (all solo) and five pass deflections against Morgan State in the New York Urban League Classic.

2003 • FRESHMAN SEASON
Experienced action in nine of the Pirates’ 11 games on the year, starting all nine contests at the cornerback position … Emerged as a starter just two weeks into the season in a contest against Howard, and established himself as Hampton’s best cover man … Finished second in the MEAC in passes defended with 16, including two interceptions and 14 break-ups … Tied for team-best in interceptions with two on the year, returning one 24 yards against Tuskegee in the Ohio Classic … Tallied 19 tackles (10 solo) on the year … Had a season-best four tackles versus South Carolina State and Florida A&M … Posted one of his best outings of the year against Morgan State in the New York Urban League Classis … In that contest, Bannister forced one fumble, returned a fumble 13 yards, picked off one pass and broke up three more passes … Also registered three pass breakups against Howard, Morgan State and Savannah State … Recorded his only tackle for loss on the year in a win over South Carolina State.

All-Conference performer at William Fleming High School … Named Defensive Player of the Year … Also ran track & field, winning the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash at the 2002 Regional meet … Earned State champion honors in the 400-meter dash … Finished second in the Long Jump at the 2002 Virginia High School League Outdoor Track Meet.
